To the Oakland Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, OG was a brother, a friend, and an important part of our chapter family. His presence, the relationships he built, and the memories he left behind continue to be a part of who we are today.

 

For me, Charlie was more than my uncle. Being only eleven years apart, he was more like an older brother. I grew up under him, and throughout my life he was always there—from seeing me off to Basic Training, standing beside me as the best man at my wedding, being there for my children, and proudly celebrating my military retirement. Through it all, I never doubted his love or how proud he was of his family.

 

Today, his legacy continues through the Oakland Chapter in a very special way. Our Charlie “OG” Speaks Scholarship Program proudly bears his name and provides educational opportunities for deserving young people pursuing college or vocational training. It is fitting that his name continues through a program dedicated to helping the next generation move forward and succeed.

 

We also continue to honor his memory through the OG Speaks Memorial Ride, bringing together family, friends, brothers, and sisters to remember a man who meant so much to so many.

The photographs on this page capture moments in OG's life, but his true legacy lives in the people he touched, the memories we share, and the good that continues to be done in his name.

 

Charlie “OG” Speaks will always be remembered, always be loved, and will forever be a part of the Oakland Chapter.
